Winter Hope

Sometimes our fate resembles a fruit tree in winter. Who would think that those branches would turn green again and blossom, but we hope it, we know it. ~Johann Wolfgang von Goethe

deborah- hope is spreading with your comments. Thanks.

Brian - it's an exchange of inspiration. Your poetry is such a delight to my ears, heart and soul.

This morning, we were left with the after-shock of an ice-storm. Each blade of grass, every twig, branch and berry were perfectly coated with a glistening layer of ice.....splendid! It looked like the movie "Narnia" outside (before the witch is weakened!)
Of course, there's always a downside, school's were late and some massive tree branches almost destroyed my house- almost. It could've been worse!!

And I've got an old French saying in my head that also suddenly seems appropriate; it's like an annual marathon card game that reaches the end of the year and your cards are bad. But instead of trading in, hold on to that hand & it'll all come good before too long. I can hardly wait. In this country where I live, what the people do best is the beach, by a long way. It seems nobody knows to do with the winter we're having, much colder & earlier than usual, after over 2 months' stronger rains. Beam me up, Santa! Enjoy yourself big, Zap & be good!

Now that's what I call a miracle!

Never be afraid to hope for miracles. With belief, effort and perseverance, they do happen.

Merry Christmas

Great picture...this year I was with my kids at a local park during a bit of a wet fall and found some leaves where the red/green/yellows popped like this picture...I placed them in a book to press and now I have no idea where my filing system has left them! Inspiring work of the best kind...brings up memories!

Goethe wrote a wonderful poem telling the story of a rose and a young man, the rose has thorns and be near her is so dangerous instead her good smelling and may give a painful memory. The young man said: never mind

I'm coming from a part of France which is near Germany and in our garden we had fruits like this one under the snow (they were peaches)

Lucie- it's wonderful to hear from you and your land in France. I enjoy learning more about where you come from. Wish I could read German, thanks for the link. Perhaps, I'll find an English translation.

Peace~
