The beauty of the world has two edges, one of laughter, one of anguish, cutting the heart asunder. ~Virginia Woolf

Hi Getzapped,

I like this saying. I have another but similar..

“He who has not looked on Sorrow will never see Joy.”

Kahlil Gibran .

How much sorrow one has experienced, that is how much joy one will understand.

Hi Getzapped,
Thank you for being there for me yesterday.
You're so right about the laughter and the sadness. And so I write different things from these 2 emotions and am trying to reach an even balance for my writing.

Ruby - Thank you for sharing Kahlil's words. I love this piece too. He is a great inspiration to me. So true, this proverb.

Susan- You are so welcome. It's important to reach out and I have to admit, it helped me to lend a hand. I try to embrace both emotions without letting one take over...balance is good.
