This quote reminds me of some great parenting advice I recieved (and try to follow):
When you are giving your child a direct order or command, do it in a softer-than-normal voice, that way, they'll know you mean buisness when you go quieter, and you won't ever feel it necessary to yell (which one shouldn't do!)
