Happy Winter Solstice

I prefer winter and fall, when you feel the bone structure of the landscape - the loneliness of it, the dead feeling of winter. Something waits beneath it, the whole story doesn't show. ~Andrew Wyeth

Wow- the "bone structure"- I love it!
I like it when the trees are bare enough for us to see neighbor's houses that we can't usually see in the summer.

Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays and new Year to you, GZ, you are a "kindred spirit" as Anne of Green Gables would say.

Oh I love this! That's exactly how it feels - yet we know that's not all there is.

Love the Wyeth. Haven't seen that one before, or the quote. I'm bookmarking, linking to you.

Oh, one of my all time favorite artists!! I love the quote and the bone structure reference. harsh winters are hard for me though. I'd rather enjoy the beauty from a warm place :)
Wishing you all the best this season has to share, and all good things in the new year. Looking forward to more time with you. Thanks for a year of wonderful, thoughful posts ;)
