So beautiful. I'm reminded how much I miss the open vistas of the West. Now living in a densely wooded place, the sky is often blocked - though it is pretty in another way ;)

The sun seems to slip into silk sheets. So red, so grey, so black...
One of my summer pleasures is to hear the blackbird whistling whereas the sun is already away and the darkness not yet here.

Vanessa- I will send some sun your way, believe it or not from the normally wet PNW. Happy Summer!

James- it's very much my pleasure!

Diana- so true!!

Devika- so much depends on the sight from within...tha'ts of my favs too.

Peter- yes, it's a pleasure to have open space. It's more so here in the winter as summer fills up the space with greenery. Enjoy your special place :)

Alina- :)

Cergie-oh, you described summer so well!

the first time I ever heard of WCW was when i was asked to illustrate "The Red Wheelbarrow." I enjoyed the poem and the image it evoked.

Wonderful summery shot. serene beauty ;)
