We fear violence less than our own feelings. Personal, private, solitary pain is more terrifying than what anyone else can inflict.~Jim Morrison

Wow, that's profound and I love that Jim Morrison said it. We can certainly be the catalysts of our own nightmares. I guess the key is, how do we come out on the other side of them.
I fear violence much more than my personal feelings....I am absolutely in control of myself, if/when I need.. violence is more fearful just because its not in my hands...and I feel so helpless and utterly hopeless!
I think if you're the type of person who's struggling with 'inner demons' or turmoil, then sure, I agree with JM. But I personally fear violence that is out of my control. Actually, isn't all violence out of control-ness?
Thanks for your well wishes. I'd love it if you'd email me your snail mail address ;) XXX
joni- you make a good point. I often think people are so removed from their feelings, they don't recognize these internal fears.
JM- gracias!
Lyrically- I'm prepared and will let you know what transpires :) I'm well, thank you.
Devika- it's so true, and yet we like to place things on others, thus we remain stuck.... I think both are equally terrifying. I too wonder if Morrison's quote was related to being male and not being free to express those fears other than through violence?
lol- I guess I sorta addressed this above. It's so very complex, with many layers. I'm grateful people took the time to read and comment about such an important topic. I'll get you my snail mail...thx!
I agree GZ..personal inner fears do get over us..and for that moment -- i don't think sex matters there -- we fear it more than the sky falling over us!
But then, the moment we stop pointing fingers at someone for the odd ways that our own mind reacts --i think most problems end...
infact logically I feel it utmost wrong to place things on others...may not be always possible, though
I think too people don't often analyze their feelings deeply enough and hence miss the point of why there is pain which ultimately is based on the same reasons as violence. Takes a lot of probing to get to that though...
I enjoy the outdoors, where I gather much of my creative inspiration. I find it necessary to spend time in nature, for balance and sanity. Get Zapped is where I post my photos accompanied by quotes I find intriguing. Get Zen is for sharing my Illustrations, design work, poetry, and other creative outlets. Thanks for stopping by.
