Spirit and Art

Where the spirit does not work with the hand there is no art.

It's too bad his work has been tainted by the recent media circus surrounding the fictional book.

He truly was a dedicated artist in the finest sense of the word.

I agree. There must be three involved in the creative process. There should be God, individual, and craft working as one. Well, at least that's how I interpreted it. :) Thank you.

lp- I saw the film and wasn't impressed. But, I've been an admirer of Leonardo's work since I was a child. You said it!

stephen- Nice interpretation! Blessed art is sounds like ;)

polona- thanks.

I was reading a book last night at work about the history of birthing, and one of DaVinci's drawings was included in the book- one of the anatomy on the INSIDE of a pregnant woman- he even included main blood vessels- very detailed, like an early art-xray. I hadn't seen that one before, or if I had, I'd forgotton it.

....now that I think about it, it was more detailed than an xray- blood vessels aren't on xrays- duh.

I really live by this quote. You can tell immediately by a piece if the spirit wasn't "present" during the process. I guess that's what some of us mean by being "in the zone." At least, that's what I mean by it :)

studio- me too, it moves into the soul. It's nice to hear from you ;)
