Throughout the time in which I am working on a canvas I can feel how I am beginning to love it, with that love which is born of slow comprehension. ~Joan Miro
yes, this is a great one. although for me, i would need to add a bit of hate and tad bit frustration to the love as its always love/hate until i either finish or just chunk the whole canvas. :)
Funny, that quote. I did a lot of art in high school and majored in it for a year at college, but usually my feeling was more one of frustration than love! I am, admittedly, a closet perfectionist, so that's most likely the issue!!!
raindog- I know, it's not always filled with love, but it's the slow part that's interesting, it can even take years ;)
writer- thank you.
suzan- nice point.
dintoons- it does, in ways we like and dislike...
lp- I can totally relate. That was my challenge (and still is) with my art and life in general. I've become more satisfied with my art but, life well...there's always something to learn :-p
but getzapped, isn't love always for our good?? isn't love the sweetest thing in the whole world?? isn't love the very heart of the universe?? isn't love the very nature of God or the Creative Source or the Divine power...???
and if one accepts that love truly IS all this, why should there be dislikes... (by love, i mean of course, Love, from a divine source)
yes i agree, sometimes the river of love rushes on wildly, uncontrollably... "disturbing" our likes and dislikes, trying to bring our hearts in tune with it's divine melody.... and that's when we (our little minds/ego) resent and oppose and rebel...as we try to hold on to our own little so called "personalities"...
and yet, when we allow love to sweep clean our minds and hearts, we discover that divine love is nothing but pure joy and pure happiness and serenity and endless delight...!! no matter what the external circumstances and situations may be...
sorry just rambling on, does it make sense...? really, i often feel that when one surrenders totally to a Divine Power, when one has a deep and unshakable faith in the Absolute Goodness of this Power, then life is so so sweet and delightful and full of infinite possibilities...!! and one can actually feel this power flowing thru oneself and touching all around you...in so many positive ways...so effortlessly...
dintoons- thank you for your eloquent expression of love, in the divine sense. I am still working towards embracing this love in my own heart. I struggle with it and thus, suffer. I am reading Rumi's work translated by Coleman Barks and am blown away by his connection (Rumi's) to divine love. I hope through reading his poetry that I can find an opening in my own heart. Thank you for sharing your poignant and deep connection to divine love.
I enjoy the outdoors, where I gather much of my creative inspiration. I find it necessary to spend time in nature, for balance and sanity. Get Zapped is where I post my photos accompanied by quotes I find intriguing. Get Zen is for sharing my Illustrations, design work, poetry, and other creative outlets. Thanks for stopping by.

creative processes are very much like that...
love the quote!
Sometimes when I am writing, it's not until the end that I realize that I like the poem.

Nice. Thank you. As usual.
Beautiful lines, Getzapped! Sometimes, there are lines so filled with splendour, beautiful becomes the only word I can think of.
beautiful!
love moves through everything...
love moves everything...
