Compassion

Compassion automatically invites you to relate with people because you no longer regard people as a drain on your energy. ~Chögyam Trungpa Rinpoche

which reminds me of a good quote I heard last week,
"The greatest opportunites are also the greatest burdens."
In my mind, I immediately thought of people. The folks who have the most needs, troubles and failures are the greatest opportunities for sucess.

nice quote..

and when one sees the divine presence in all forms, esp people, then every thing and every person actually becomes a channel for divine love to flow thru and touch you and heal you...
which in turn makes you respond in a positive and loving way to each person...leading to their own healing and wholeness...
resulting in a true union of hearts at a deeper spiritual level...

Oh...compassion!
We preach it all the time...are often self-righteous and judgemental in our endeavours but when it comes to the test...very few have it!

Lovely, my friend, Getzapped. Thank you.

lp- I agree, but I really struggle with this one. And then I'm reminded I must have compassion for myself and then I can express it to others...

dintoons- you expressed this so eloquently, I strive for this and stumble a lot!

polona- ditto...

pod- yep!

susan- I know. Our ego gets in the way quite often.

Good point, GZ- meaning, I understand where you're coming from. However, being a Christian, my source for any compassion that I show to people comes from jesus and him working through me. Anything "good" that comes out of me is because of him (based on the basic Christian belief that all people are sinners).

Peace.

lp- I feel if we are treating others well, it's a good thing and if it's through Jesus, that's great too! As I stated before, my family is Catholic, and I know all about sin and the guilt that can come with it....
