I wrote a poem called "What Does Great Jazz Sound Like".
Very cool and so expressive of jazz in action! Love it!
I learnt to appreciate jazz in later years, Getzapped.
Still, Dave Brubeck's Take Fivestays a particular favourite.
I was lucky and found jazz as a young person. Once I heard Coltrane, I was never the same!

Funny that you say that. It was Coltrane that I was playing, when my mother yelled downstairs, "what in the h*ll are you listening to?"
I used to be a Jazz dj in Savannah Georgia. I had a show on Sunday nights called, A Sunday Kind Of Love. :)I did that show for over 3 years.
Cool! What a great name for a show. What sorta tunes did you play? I used to listen to WPFW a lot in the 80's and one of my favorite shows was "Giant Steps", but can't for the life of me remember the DJ. He had a really low, smooth, "cool cat" voice, and one time I was volunteering there during his show and out came this short, Jewish guy - somehow I expected someone entirely different.
