Yes, GZ...and let me quote our Nobel laureate poet Ravindranath Tagore here: Many must have read him, but still :)
Where The Mind Is Without Fear
Where the mind is without fear and the head is held high Where knowledge is free Where the world has not been broken up into fragments By narrow domestic walls Where words come out from the depth of truth Where tireless striving stretches its arms towards perfection Where the clear stream of reason has not lost its way Into the dreary desert sand of dead habit Where the mind is led forward by thee Into ever-widening thought and action Into that heaven of freedom, my Father, let my country awake.
The quote is deep and, to me, convoluted. I'm having trouble grasping it. Maybe he means the brooding type of fear, apprehensive of having secrets discovered? But not the rush you feel when you hear(and can't see) a rattlesnake...?
Ominous picture. I read a book once that said light gray is the color of fear.
I enjoy the outdoors, where I gather much of my creative inspiration. I find it necessary to spend time in nature, for balance and sanity. Get Zapped is where I post my photos accompanied by quotes I find intriguing. Get Zen is for sharing my Illustrations, design work, poetry, and other creative outlets. Thanks for stopping by.

oohhh- that one hit home!
I need to wrap my brain around this one! Have a good weekend!
This one's a little trippy for me because I think of guilt as the tax we pay (for whatever reason.)
Fear is the tax I pay for leaving my sense of adventure behind these days. Fear has been having its way with me!

what a thoughtful quote !

deepak- happy you enjoyed it.
devika -very powerful!! It's full of truth and may this become commonplace. Thank you.
a.decker - for me I see how guilt can stop us from moving forward - seeking what we feel we want or deserve. We may not even know it....

Yes, we all do have fear but with God's protection, we are brave again!
