Travel

Travel is more than the seeing of sights. It is a change that goes on, deep and permanent, in the ideas of living. ~Miriam Beard

I was just telling one of my friends that I used to go anywhere at the drop of a hat. Now I'm afraid to travel or I don't have enough desire to go.
Perhaps it's my age where I'm just ready to simplify.
Or perhaps that's typical me coming up with an excuse as to why I can't (won't) go!
Besides, I'd miss my pets too much ;)

Love it! Maya Angelou said something like this too.
And I agree with Devika. One can travel in the mind through literature and inspiring non-fiction, and music too!

I haven't traveled a lot in my life but I have gotten to live in another culture and experience that outside perspective you return with.

devika- I've been doing a lot of that - travel through books, but I'm ready to make my own travel memories :)

diana- thanks. go for it!

lolo- it's easy to make excuses, but then I think there are times where travel calls us and others where our current place it where we're to be. FYI, I can't access your profile :(

joni- absolutely! music carries us to many foreign places.

cergie- Yes, Europe! So many places I want to see. I will let you know if I plan to come to Paris, for sure.

donny- Portugal is a place I want to explore as well - I say do it!

princess - that's wonderful! I think everyone should do that at least once.

deepak - me too!
